Greater Essex Counseling Services Hosts 5th Annual Community Resource Event

On September 19th, 2025, Greater Essex Counseling Services proudly hosted its 5th Annual Community Resource Event in the heart of Newark. This milestone event brought together over 150 community partners and welcomed more than 2,500 participants, our largest turnout to date!

Throughout the day, community partners offered an array of essential services and resources, including health screenings, job and training information, school and educational resources, free showers, and haircuts. The event provided residents with direct access to support that promotes health, well-being, and stability.

We are especially grateful to Assemblywoman Shanquë Speight, Councilman-at-Large Weldon Montague of the City of Orange, and Councilman-at-Large Luis Quintana for their presence and unwavering support. Their leadership and advocacy help strengthen the bridge between vital services and the community members who need them most.

This year’s Community Resource Event was a vibrant demonstration of what is possible when organizations, leaders, and neighbors unite for a common cause. Together, we’re building a healthier, stronger, and more connected Newark.
