Medication Monitoring and Coordinated MAT Referrals

Patients prescribed medication as a result of psychiatric evaluation at GECS will be scheduled to return for brief sessions under the supervision of our Medical Director to ensure consistent and appropriate use of therapeutic drugs. Patients prescribed medication by an outside psychiatrist or other doctor are not eligible for medication monitoring services at our facility.

Patients referred to GECS for services (treatment or evaluation only) with an identified history of alcohol and/or opioid (opiate) abuse may be referred and assessed under the supervision of our Medical Director to determine if Medication Assisted Treatment is an appropriate tool in their recovery. Patients whose treatment needs may be furthered by the inclusion of Vivitrol (naltrexone) or other MAT drugs are referred for those services as needed. In situations where the Patient is best served by combining all clinical services, including access to MAT, GECS coordinates care with neighboring facilities in our community.
